Situated on the westernmost part of Cyprus, the Akamas peninsula is itself a Natural Reserve. The area is ideal for off road driving, hiking, trekking and swimming in the crystal clear waters of Fontana Amorosa and Lara Bay, the breeding ground of the Mediterranean Green Turtle. Not only is it one of the island’s most beautiful locations, it is also strewn with myth and legend. It is home to the Baths of Aphrodite where, legend has it, the goddess herself used to bathe with her lover Adonis. Our guests have the opportunity to explore spectacular landscapes and beaches, unique fauna and flora and wide variety of rare birds and animals. The nature trails that cross the peninsula pass through unspoiled areas of extreme physical beauty such as the Avakas Gorge.
We drive off-road to the famous Lara Bay, known as the breeding ground of the Green Turtles of the Mediterranean. The Cyprus Government was one of the first in Mediterranean, to protect the turtle population and beaches where they nest.
At the Harbour of Latchi, we will relax and have lunch (optional supplement).
We finish off with a visit to the Baths Of Aphrodite, a natural pool.
Time Permitting:
We can stop at Blue Lagoon, famous for its crystal blue waters.
